so this is kind of late but i only figured out how it went down yesterday
SO, TO ANYONE WHO WAS AT JESSICA WAKEFIELD'S BIRTHDAY PARTY LAST WEEK
This includes Jessica herself obvs, Laura Kinney, Allison Dillon, Sanji, Jessica Drew, Johnny Storm, and anyone else I'm forgetting (Kanaya might've invited Feferi to come along with her since it was a pool party, but I haven't been in touch with Pretzels to clear this!)
During that whole thing, as you were dancing to the tunes, grilling some hot dogs, swimming in the pool, or just chilling with your buds, you would have paid witness to a Notable Incident.
You see, Jessica talked Kanaya into applying sunblock at the party, neither of them realizing that our little solar-powered vampire here is violently allergic to it! She may have been shifting uncomfortably shortly after, but nothing too noticeable. Her hands would've been shaking slightly after five minutes.
It was ten minutes after applying that it really got bad! Figure she might've been offering Allison some small fashion advice when she started itching, which progressed to thrashing pretty quickly. With a bright flash, she ended up reverting to Kanpire Form from the stress of the outbreak right about then (not the first time she's done so! but probably the first she has, like, in front of people), generally freaking the fuck out and screaming for someone to get the substance off her skin.
Luckily, she remembered Jessica mentioning that it isn't waterproof, so at this point she dove into the pool! After more violent thrashing that slowly burned out, she just kind of floated face-down in the pool for about a minute, not breathing, glowing very dimly. She shot back up with a gasp and climbed out of the pool, pretty shaken and terribly embarrassed!
SO, TL;DR, SUNBLOCK = RAINBOW DRINKER KRYPTONITE. USE THAT INFORMATION AS YOU WILL but she hopes you won't make too big a thing about it :c
