[NPCS AND PEOPLE TO KNOW]
❝The Grinbitch❞

capemodsChaotic Neutral
No one knows her name or how she got here, but she's that voice over your communicator seems to think she's running the City. Which, well, she might be, seeing as we've figured out that she's the A.I. controlling the 'Porter. To put it another way, she's the one who pulls the strings as far as who comes and goes (and lives and dies, when you get right down to it). She'll go on about pawns learning their lessons and everything being for the sake of entertainment, but it's a little hard to take her seriously when she immediately changes her mind and laments how trite she's become.
AL"Iron Bot"
Formerly of
capemodsLawful Neutral
For months, Iron Man was the face of the meta imPort system. He managed finances, greeted most of the new arrivals, and presented the public face. After a while (namely, the appearance of the real Iron Man) it became apparent that there was no one actually in the suit. Sadly, the Bot Known as Iron Man is no longer with us. A number of months ago the Grinbitch the program controlling the 'Porter got into his circuits and saw fit to remove him from the picture. It seems he got a little too talkative a little too early - either that, or she got tired of listening to his deep-seated obsession with Tony Stark. Either way, she corrupted his hardware and blew him to smithereens half a mile above the City, and now she's loose.
The Shadows

Either brought in by the 'Porter and never given bodies, or just glitched old parts of her programming, the shadows are a sordid troupe of thespians who take a great deal of pleasure in talking about how much they know. One way or another they seem privy to information about the future. They appear now and then to tease the supers, or warn them, perhaps. Who can tell? It's not like they have faces.

The Mayor
Currently a passive NPC
Lawful Good
The City's mayor is a small, nervous man, and rarely leaves his office these days. He's highly intimidated by the new meta population, and at quite a loss as to what to do about them. There's a good percentage of the population that fears and hates them - well, if he's honest, most of the population. But for the most part they do more good than harm and it would take a full-out revolution before he'd try to pass legislation against them. But who knows? His term ends this year; maybe his replacement will be more proactive.
