in which GLaDOS gets her ass kicked.

HELLO C&C. SICK OF TL;DR GLaDOS OOC POSTS YET. orz

This is just a heads-up to provide context for a smidge of a plot that will be rippling through the Network this afternoon. After stalking the comms for the past few days ever since the power exchange (focusing specifically Tony Stark and aiming to figure out what his power is -- since GLaDOS up until this point only thought the suit and an external machine was what 'powered' Tony), it's come to her attention that Optimus Prime is now a designation technopath in this switch up. What does this mean? It means that GLaDOS's curiosity is in overdrive and wants to see exactly HOW good of a techopath Prime is -- hoping to take advantage of his unfamiliarity with the power.

  • GLaDOS will essentially attempt to 'hack' Optimus Prime and -- unknowingly -- butt heads with Extremis.
  • Upset at the prospect that she cannot hack Optimus and that he attempts to 'fight her off', she will do her best to attempt to force her way through.
  • After a few minutes of digital battle (all handwaved because WHAT DOES THAT LOG LIKE), Extremis will effective kick GLaDOS's digital ass, forcing her offline.
  • Before she is kicked offline, she will send a speaker-busting bit of feedback and some nonsense code to every communicator on the Network (post later).
  • In this last scramble, GLaDOS's secondary power will be initialized without her knowing it (see below for details). As she becomes overwhelmed, the need for backup security measures will engage this power for the first time, causing her communicator to release a fair amount of neurotoxin into the air of the room that she is in.

So what does this mean?
  • Because of the way I've made GLaDOS's powers extremely biological, getting kicked offline against her will is like having her brain get run over several times by a semi-truck. As a result, once her post goes live, she will be bleeding out and heavily concussed on her kitchen floor, but don't worry somebody will hopefully come get her (STARES AT JOHN).
  • GLaDOS will be offline for the next few days. Attempts to contact her will be met with sporadic response, if at all.
  • Everything at the prison is set to run on autopilot when she is not physically there being a creeper. Anything messy happen, though, she won't be there to contain it.
  • GLaDOS, having recognized the 'signature' of Tony Stark's power on Optimus will now know that he is an actual power designation: technopath. She does not know the extent of Extremis's power, but now she knows beyond the Suit, Tony is a threat. She also knows he's more powerful than her, which pisses her off to no end.
  • Optimus, during the fight, will gain a fairly comprehensive understanding of GLaDOS's capabilities, as well as her seconday neurotoxin power; this information will all be passed to Tony Stark.
  • GLaDOS is going to need a hug and quite possibly a doctor, depending.

Also, considering that GLaDOS was accepted with her neurotoxin ability not completely clarified, after talking with the mods about the possiblity of her being way overpowered, it has been revised and scaled down to what was originally posted to her permissions post. Just so that everybody is on the same page, I've decided to post the refinement of this secondary power here as a reference.

GLaDOS's secondary ability is an offshoot of her technopathy. She is capable of touching an object (much in the sameway her technopathy works) and alter the nature of that object to generate and release neurotoxin (essentially turning it into a neurotoxin timebomb). Like her technopathy this power only works on computational or mechanical machines powered by electricity. The amount of neurotoxin created is porportional to both the size of the object touched as well as time spent utilizing the ability (so a communicator can only make a finite amount of neutrotoxin -- enough to incapacitate somebody, but not kill them; a large computer server can, but that would require hours of GLaDOS's time and concentration, rather than a few minutes). The network capability of this ability does not work. GLaDOS must touch the item in question and maintain contact with it for the duration of completing the process. The device remains altered for only 24 hours; the neutotoxin can be released at any time within that timeframe, but its release must be pre-defined (more like a bomb set on a timer or with a conditional tripwire, rather than one triggered on a whim by a remote detonator). GLaDOS has the ability to change the setting on an objects internal detonation timer, but this requires her to re-establish physical contact in order to do. After 24 hours, the object returns to its normal state. Once normal again, there is no proof that it has been tampered with; however, within that 24 hours, technopaths are capable of sensing than an object has been altered. The question of how exactly can be addressed on a case-to-case basis depending on the nature of the individual's technopathy.

Also, GLaDOS is immune to her own neurotoxin.

Any questions, comments, clarifications, please let me know! AND ENJOY A FEW DAYS WORTH OF CREEPERLESS PEACE ON THE NETWORK, CITY.
