I don't agree with the government. I don't agree with some of the "red states" or the "bible belt". But do I have a terrible image of all Americans in my mind?
Nope. Sure don't.
And I definitely agree with the above commenter! I try to be better than the Canadian stereotype (drunken hockey fanatic) as well : ) Gives me peace of mind.
Quite frankly, I would take anything that comes from the mouth of Mr. (or is it "Mrs." - I get the feeling his BF wears the pants... [LOL]) MacIsaac with a grain of salt.
Don't worry dear, not everyone has it in for Yanks - especially those in New England. One may not agree with your current administration but that's no reason to paint the entire American populace with such a broad brush.
Quite frankly, having resided in the UK, I can honestly say that we have more in common with Yanks than we do with the British.
Thanks Ted for sending your insight. Ashley sure is an"interesting" person. I think he is one of the best fiddle players ever. We saw him a couple of years ago in Somerville,Massachusetts and he was amazing.Broke just about every sting on his fiddle. He doesn't do performances down here anymore.Guess he's running for some political office up there. Beer good...for my family,if it isn't Guiness it isn't good.Although we have been known to drink Newcastle in a pinch :)
Had to Goggle"call centres" :) Embittered sounds bad.You mean the politics? Making the most noise....we are rather loud at times.I guess one needs to separate the cowboys from the natives. Maybe Canada and America are like two brothers who feel free to jestingly complain about each other but watch out if anyone else says anything bad. You guys were here for us big time when 9/11 happened! Thanks for clarifying the subtleties of our relationship,it helped :)

I can't answer for "any" Canadians, being from the U.S., but the concept of "none equal the whole" answers some of your concern.
Be a better Yankee, and know that you're better than the stereotype.
