Green and pleasant

So, here I am in England and the holiday is going really well. This is my first bit of uninterrupted time with a broadband connection (thanks to the lovely figsbury_ring) so it's obviously the occasion for an update post.

The details... )

Good to hear from you! I'm sorry I haven't been commenting to let you know I'm reading your posts. Using a phone to check LJ makes me very lazy, but I'll try to do better next year. *g*

Just thought you might like to know that the Qatari censor blocks your site, by the way. Not that there aren't ways around that...

And even with all the ridiculous rain, I have to admit I'm enjoying the climate. Enjoying everything, really, now that I'm in London (until tomorrow, and then it's off to enjoy the Alps for a few days.)

Thank you! So far I'm having a lot of fun, and enjoying being a bit itinerant. Off to the Alps tomorrow - I shall report...

Hi -- glad to hear you're enjoying your return to the UK, even the cool, damp weather.

I entirely agree with you about the rail business: it's crazy. (And why they cannot be forced by law to ensure that everyone has a seat on commuter trains I do not know).

Old cinemas are fun but always smell slightly disgusting, I find, even without feet :-)

I hope you have a great time in Switzerland. I'm looking forward to hearing about it.

Hi there! I hope the lack of summer isn't getting you down too much. At least for me it's a novelty.

Rail travel reached an all time low yesterday when A & I got (with some difficulty) to Paddington, en route to visit her mother in hospital, only to discover that all trains to Wales were cancelled due to the weather. I bet THAT doesn't happen very often in Switzerland. (We fly out tomorrow.)

OK, I'm off to get hold of a battery for my camera so I can attempt to do the Alps justice.
