why he doesn't shag

Ok, this little thought keeps going around and around in my head. The doctor has never shagged any humans to my knowledge. Not Sarah Jane, not Rose (who you'd think he would have) not Martha and not Jack (well just in case he swings that way).

So that's left me wondering if it might be some sort of biological issue. Yes he looks human with all his ( Read more... )

Actually the Dr has a half human grand daughter so he did indeed shag a human at one point. Go back and watch the original few episodes of the series, that was the first story line. :)

Oh you have me puzzled. Do you mean the original series? I'm afraid I have only seen the 9th & 10th Doctors. I have heard about his 1/2 human granddaughter, and I have read fan fic that mentions he had a time lord wife. But no where have I read he had a human lover. If his grand daughter was 1/2 human, then her parents had to be 1 human and 1 time lord. So that still doesn't mean the Doctor has had carnal relations with a human.
But then I only know the 2 latest regenerations, so I could be completely wrong. I need to find a source for the original (1960) series and watch them. Sadly growing up in the States, I can tell you all about Captain Kirk and Spock but only knew the Doctor by the occasional mention in Sci Fi mags.

The Dr was married at one point to a Gallifreyan, so it might be that he may never personally had sex with a human but at least a child of his did. I'm not a Brit and followed the series on PBS as it is how it was mostly aired here in the states prior to the kick off of the new series with the 9th Dr. You can find the originals online for download on graboid or even on youtube most times.

As for why the Dr doesn't have sex with his companions. He already states time and again how hard it is to leave them behind as it is, he has to watch them age and wither. It's out of a sense of personal responsibility that he doesn't enter into an physical relationship as well.

Lucky you, I vaguely remember PBS showing Monty Python when I was a kid, and maybe once or twice they would run a Dr Who episode when they were doing a begathon. But mostly we only got to see Masterpeice Theater and Mystery from Britain.
Maybe I just didn't watch enough TV? LOL We only had one set and my parents decided what we watched.
BTW I like you romantic notion that the Doctor doesn't want to get into a physical relationship because he'll outlive the girl. Of course, that means he's definitely not yor normal human male, lol. After all, he could be the ultimate version of a sterotypical sailor with a girl in every port.
