Love it! The way everyone dealt with their switched-around powers was so neat and wonderfully in character. And I love the way Tony and Steve's relationship developed from the plot, and how they dealt with all the pheromone-related complications. Lovely story.
I'm glad you like it! It's kind of a classic comic plot, but I don't remember it being done with the Avengers. I do have a soft spot for pheromones/love pollen/aphrodisiac plots.
Oh, this is awesome, I'm not even sure where to start. Emma being Emma, and a glorious bitch, Peter being all cuddly with Tony even after he knows about the pheromones, Steve being just absolutely adorable with the spider powers....
You do a really beautiful job with getting Steve and Tony together. It's so easy to forget, with things like pheromones and sex pollen that there's a very real issue of consent, so I really loved Tony's little freak out over taking advantage of Steve. But you make it clear that the attraction's all Steve's, just amped up a little, and I'm being totally incoherent here, but, the sex is just all so very, very hot, and really sweet there too, especially at the end.
My plot wasn't working at all, and then I added Emma, and she sorted it all out for me! I love Emma way too much.
Yeah, it was a tricky balance to strike - obviously he's going to feel guilty, he is the self-blame expert, but hell, even if Steve hadn't really been attracted to him, Steve's forgiven him worse than, as Spider-Woman puts it, a drunken hook-up. And as a reader, I find the only thing worse than endless angsty wallowing in guilt and refusing to discuss it like grown-ups is characters just merrily ignoring all the associated consent issues. Fortunately, Steve is of a practical bent, and is willing to Talk About His Feelings if that's what it takes.
The final sex scene I wrote last, and I was definitely flagging - I was all, you want to fight? Fine! I'm too tired to argue with you! I'm glad it works - I think being so different from the other, pheromone-fuelled encounters probably works in its favour.
I read this over the weekend, and I kind of love it. I saw the pheromone thing coming, but that might have been because I just finished New Avengers vol. 2, so it's fresh in my head. I have to say that I love the way you handled it, and it would get worse after Tony knows, because it's stress-related and "I think I raped my best friend! D:" is very stress-inducing, on top of the fact that "laid back" is not something ever applied to Tony, unless it has a negative modifier attached. Poor Tony!
Everyone's reactions to their changed powers seemed very much IC, I think. "Patriotic death from above" is perfect (Peter in general is love and I don't think we'll find many disagreements there), and Luke cheating at video games was very amusing. Best part had to be Cap and the web slinging though. He clearly got way too much of a kick out of that.
All in all, this was made of win! And I kind of wish I could read it again but, alas, I am at work. :(
Yeah, the pheromone thing can't really be a surprise if you know Spider-Woman's powers well. :) Yeah, Tony's not really good at handling stress, so it's not going to help.
I love Peter, he's so much fun! I'm really glad you liked it, thanks for reading.
The descriptions of them all experiencing the new powers were great, Tony being so agile with Jessica's. Steve's powers, in particular, cause his aren't really as showy as the rest, but you showed how they really would be an upgrade in their own way.
The movement of the characters too, were very well done, like that scene where Tony and Steve were testing their new strengths while in midair, i could picture it perfectly in my head.
They also made his fingers twitch for stylus and tablet; he could have designed Logan so much better. Oh, what a fantastic line

I love Peter and Steve hanging out - it's because they're both so normal, despite their wacky powers. One really annoying thing about Civil War is that it cut off the New Avengers team, who I really liked. I was looking forward to seeing Spider-Man develop - I mean, he's got a really incredible set of powers, he should be more kickass than he is.
If Tony had designed Logan, Logan would be approximately 3x more terrifying, trufax.
In conclusion, this was like reading an arc in a New Avengers comic,
This is very high praise indeed, thank you very much. :) I'm glad you liked!
