So, Quantum of Solace is due out in the States on November 17th, and I'm getting into full-blown hype mode. I've been reading anything I can that's not loaded down with spoilers (not easy), which has lead me to reading wikipedia articles on the character's history. I think Craig is certainly the exception to the "poof" rule - I mean, Moore, Brosnon, Laizenby (sp?) were all pretty. Daniel Craig is good-looking but definitely very rugged. Might even give Sean Connery a run for his money ;)

My very first thought on reading that was of George Lazenby.

I don't know, having watched OHMSS for the first time since I was a kid, I found myself surprisingly impressed by Lazenby. I mean, he can't help some of the outfits he was dressed in, but other than that I found myself regretting he didn't stay on (damn his agent!). A bit of a pretty-boy, true, but a motherfucker in a fight scene. I mean, his Bond could assuredly take Roger Moore's and Tim Dalton's Bonds in a one-on-one fight; maybe even Brosnan's. And there's no shame in saying you'd get your ass handed to you by Connery or Craig.

Fun fact: Daniel Craig was recently given a special honor by Aston-Martin:

He can now use any Aston-Martin car in the world (presumably not ones people have already purchased, but would you say no?) for as long as he lives.

He currently has not taken them up on the offer because driving in London is terrible.
