Okay, serious question time.

I just want to know if I'm alone in thinking maybe Arrested Development is a bit overrated? Not to say I've not found it pretty amusing, but I just don't see it being this pinnacle of comedic genius that so many people presented it to me as.

Along that train of thought, does anyone else just plain out-and-out fucking hate ( Read more... )

Scrubs might be alright, if the lead wasn't so thoroughly unlikeable. Each episode makes me wish he'd die somehow.

The girl who plays Elliot is cute though.

I don't think Scrubs is a sacred cow. It's more of a cult show than anything. People like it, but I don't think the support is as fervent. Never been much of a fan of Scrubs, but I do LOVE Arrested Development, just for the pure inanity of it all and the David Cross factor.

Arrested Development is good for DVD marathons. Like, watching two to three episodes a night and really paying attention to them. Then, it's hilarious.

If you watch an episode here and there, you're going to forget an old joke that resurfaced, and frequently the resurfaced old joke is funnier if you remember previous episodes. Or something in a new episode will make a previous episode funnier.

By the end, the show was pretty insular, and only longtime fans and people "in the know" would get the jokes.

Oh, and if you watch the Julia Louise Dreyfuss episodes, take some aspirin with you.

yeah the big thing with arrested development is they have a ton of callbacks to other episodes. so unless you've already seen it through, it's sort of a hard show just to watch one episode by itself.

i like scrubs, but i can see how some people would not care for it.
