Ikebana 2

This is certainly a very strange place. Even though I've only been here for a little over a week, I've apparently been working at the hospital as a nurse for quite some time. At least, that's what the... 'drones', I believe?... want me to think. I don't mind that, of course; healing comes naturally to me, even without my powers. I suppose being ( Read more... )

Something strange like that - that the town seems to have 'organized' - happens about once a month, sometimes two, based on my experience. I'm fairly certain, given the response of everyone else, that the photos and videos are all fake.

Favors come sometimes after these quirks of the town.

Hmm... this is all very interesting. So the favors are given to keep us content? Or at least try to.

Thank you for this information. My name is Retsu Unohana.

We're not sure. It seems like the most logical explanation, but returning things to us obviously creates complications.

I'm sorry I don't know more. I'm Mia Fey.

Indeed. Has anyone tried to escape using their returned items and powers?

There's no need to apologize. You've given me more information, and I'm grateful for that.

Hello, Grady-san. I'm Retsu Unohana. Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to speak with me.

I've been told that it is impossible to leave Mayfield. Why is this?

mayfield_mods September 15 2009, 00:12:40 UTC
Why, because Mayfield is the greatest town on Earth and nobody wants to leave, of course! Should business take ye outside our boundaries, however, ye're free to come and go as you please!

This is a free country, after all.

Oh, of course. In that case, I wonder if you could explain to me why the town loops in on itself? Trying to leave isn't as simple as you claim, Grady-san.

You were alright, weren't you? The man wasn't vulgar, or rude, was he?

Oh, no. He was quite a gentleman.

Thank you for your concern!

Kira-san! Hinamori-san mentioned that you were here. Are you well?

I've not been here long. It's been about two weeks, I believe.

I'm fine, ma'am, but I'm sorry that you're stuck here as well.

I've been here five months...

Please, don't worry about me. I assure you, I can take care of myself. I'm certainly not pleased that you and Hinamori-san are trapped here, but knowing that there are people I can rely on is comforting.

Five months? That's terrible... I must do something about this.

I'm still getting used to it too. No helping the kids, I guess... [He's really uncomfortable about that. Even the programmed "personalities" are obnoxious, they're still just kids.] But, if there's anything I can do to help out, just say the word! It got frustrating with the drone wife saying I shouldn't do stuff because it was "woman work" or whatever. Your job's harder than mine, anyway.

Thank you, Zack. I really do appreciate it. I wouldn't say my job is difficult, really; it's what I've done for many, many years, only without the assistance of kido.

The children are... hmm. I'm not sure what to make of them, honestly. I understand that they're drones, but they're still alive, aren't they?

I suppose it most closely resembles magic to many.

I must admit, seeing children act in such a way is quite unsettling.
