The next step in evolution

I have something growing in my foot between my 4th and 5th toes. I've known about it for several years, but it hasn't been bothering me until recently. Is it bad when the doctor, who is an orthopedic foot specialist, looks at an X-ray and says "Wow! I don't know what that is!"? I'm betting that it is a 6th toe.
