Thanks all, for the OOK support, but I've got it handled ;) Just venting abit on here so that my friends know where I stand. Remember what happened to the last person that accused me of Piracy?
no, as I stated earlier, after I had volunteered to keep under the old letter of marque, he then told me he was interested in "renegotiating" since I hadn't paid any "tribute" during my tenure (which of course was not part of the bargain - ask Jamal). At which point, and later when I sent a messenger to him, I tried to express to him that he should be careful how he deals with this, as insulting us could have consequences. He didn't care what I thought then, I don't care what he wants now. As a wonderful group of bards once said, "you can't shake the Devil's hand, and say you're only kidding."
I'm sorry this happened. I enjoy a little bit theater in the SCA, but only when everyone is a willing participant and everyone gets something out of it.
I apologize for any contributions I made to offensive behavior with my teasing of you and Marcos.
Didn't see it, but still dislike it. Often people think others will like what they like, and often don't stop to think about others values, needs, fears, etc.
While I know this won't help now, it may in the future. "Never attribute to malious what can adequately be explained by incompetence, or apaithy."
Or better, If you want to encourage someone to serve, don't make false and malicious charges against them in order to induce them to serve under threat of death, people don't necessarily take to that kindly.

Drop me a line if you need to vent to an OOKer, man.

This is why, even when I want to do "surprise" schtick, I check with someone close to the "victim" (ie a spouse) to make sure it won't be offensive.
*hugs*
