So the artist has sent me a rough sketch for A Wind out of Indigo, and after blinking furiously for a few minutes, I'm coming round to it. I did tell her that I wanted mood rather than fidelity to the story, and that she gave me--it's highly romantic and other-worldly.

I'm still dubious about the horse, though.

I have a free account, which doesn't allow me to post images--at least that's what I blame, rather than technical incompetence. I'll send you an email instead, just promise to second guess with an eye toward marketing ;)

Aha, I can't post pics either - I can on blogspot, though.
It's an attractive cover, but I think you're right that the horse takes up too much of the space, and promises a somewhat different story, more epic fantasy than quirky steampunkish. I'd suggest having the figure standing, looking up at an airship, and get more sky and horizon into it. I know the title & credits need to fit in there, but if there were more sky that would still leave room for lettering.
