As Picasso went through his Blue Period, I seem to be entering my Gin Period. Vodka and whisky have been treasured companions to me all through the past decade, but I was never a fan of gin. I don't know if it was its particular taste, but the stuff just never clicked with me. But in the past month, I've been offered gin at a few people's houses - ( Read more... )

As I sent you that text message on Wednesday it occurred to me that actually you could have just got a lift with us. We always set off from Crouch End for evening games anyway and bringing you back this way would be no trouble.

If you're going by bus ever though you could get the W3 on the way there, and walk to Seven Sisters on the way back (you won't see a W3 going back home for about 45 mins after the final whistle so you may as well hike up the road).

That would be well useful, thanks. I'll give you a shout next time I'm going on a weeknight.

I did think about the W3 but wasn't sure how long it would take- how long would you leave for it?

It's a long way on the W3. Clear run of traffic should get you there in about 30/40 mins though. When I went on my own I used to leave work at 1.30pm on a Saturday (ah, those were the days, Saturday football) to get there easily for 2.30. Sometimes the drivers boot you off at Perth Road though and you have to walk.

Also, when you're going on a weekend we should usually be able to meet you after the game and give you a lift home.

I found a Court of Appeal case about fly-tipping today. I'll send it to you if you like.
