There's something I don't understand.
Remember that guy that was with Elena in AC? They showed her briefly at one point, and there was a guy with her with long, black hair?
Wasn't that Tseng?
If so then...
Didn't he die in the game? Temple of the Ancients, talks about Sephiroth, gives you the keystone, is seen being stabbed by Sephiroth in a flashback, Elena shows up later in that town called Icicle to avenge his death because she believes you killed him? Any of this ringing a bell?
Did I miss something?
Update: Finally found an answer on the GameFAQs message board:
Q: Didn't Tseng die in the original FFVII?
A: No. There was a mistranslation in the PlayStation English version when Elena said "But you really got guts doin' my boss in like that!" The translators just assumed he was dead. What she actually said there was "How dare you do that to my boss!" Also, if you speak to Tseng in the Temple after he sits down near the entrance, he'll say that he's still alive. Apparently, Elena found him before the Temple collapsed and he survived.
