[Background] GIGANTIC SPOILERS IF YOU HAVEN'T BEEN TO THE CORE.

Seriously. Gtfo if you don't want to hear them! D:

As the Fon Master, Ion is the leader of a religion called the Order of Lorelei, which believes that life should be lived in accordance with the Score, a great prophecy that predicts the future of the world. The Score is disturbingly accurate, and, as such, the people of the world have come to depend on it for direction in their lives. Ion, however, believes that the Score should only be treated as a guideline for one's life, not a manual, and wants to pry people from their dependence on it. He knows the joy and the pain it has brought to people.

This Ion is actually the seventh replica of the original Fon Master Ion, who died two years prior to the start of the game. He assumed his original's role and identity, and was born to conceal the real Ion's death. Only a select few high-ranked members of the Order of Lorelei know the truth about him. Original Ion hated the Score for predicting his untimely death, and also hated the humanity that followed it, so he and Van, a commandant in Daath's forces, conspired to destroy and remake the world with replicas. This would have effectively "freed" it from the mental poison of the Score. By the time the party makes it to the Absorption Gate, it is possible Ion has surmised this much about his original, but there is no real confirmation.

Because he is a replica, Ion is considerably weaker than his original, and although he inherited his skills, he did not inherit his strength. As such, his ability to perform artes (magic techniques) is restricted because of the physical toll it takes on his body. Thanks to this, and due to his religious importance, he is supposed to have a personal guard at all times.

[Personality] Ion is a gentle, peaceful person who has a lot of love and hope for the world. He has high hopes for reforming the beliefs of his religion, and this drives him forward. By this point in the canon, he is also more at peace with the true nature who and what he really is and no longer feels compelled to be exactly as his original was. He recognizes himself a real person and an individual, and now knows his life has meaning and value, even though he was born as a replacement for someone else.

He is also very forgiving, and is sometimes seen as naive. Ion is against having to kill people unnecessarily, and will often choose mercy over death if possible. Despite outwardly appearing to be somewhat of a space-case, Ion is quite perceptive and intelligent, and is often aware of everything that's going on, even if he doesn't say so.

[Specialties/Abilities] Capable of very strong "magic" techniques called Daathic fonic artes, using the seventh fonon (which is more or less the "holy" element, in Final Fantasy terms). These include reasonably large area attacks and are quite versatile in battle. Unfortunately, despite his strong skills, Ion can't be pegged as a participant in battle when he's by himself, as too strong an arte could cause him to faint. He would make good back-up from time to time, but mostly requires protection. OTL

[Affection]
What type of affections are allow/disallowed and would your character do this to others?
I'd say Ion is quite open-minded, and thus won't mind mild shows of affection from others. Hugs and whatnot are fine, and he would probably put up with being kissed under certain circumstances as well. If gay characters came onto him, he's inclined to... gently reject them? :'D

[Fighting]
Can other characters fight/injure/kill your character?
Ion will avoid participating in battle, simply because he would probably just end up feeling like a disadvantage to other team members. He does not pick fights, period, and actually tries to prevent them from happening amongst other people. In a fight (if one happened), he could easily be injured because his metaphorical defense stats suck, and he can't fight back for long before he passes out. The only way he'd win is if the opponent wasn't absurdly strong and could be defeated with a single strike, probably a mid-strength Daathic arte.

Try not to kill him? D:

[Other Permissions]
Can telepathic characters read your character's mind?
They probably could! Be as intrusive as you want, omniscient ones. Any subject matter is fair game. /o/

[Other Facts] He gets kidnapped a lot in his canon. |:
