I have come to the realization in the past few days that I really am getting older, and with that, I should probably take better care of myself and preserve what I can and age well, etc

so with the dark armpit thing I switched to natural deorderant over a year ago. It's really really helped. I recommend Alba or Oyin's funk butter. I have to put on a layer of coconut oil on the armpits before funk butter because that stuff is HARD CORE if I don't, my underarms become raw, peely, and pink.
OR I don't wear deorderant and that really helps with the nondarkness. That's easier in the winter. Lately I will just really moisturize with coconut oil after the shower and a spritz of perfume and then I don't get smelly at all.
I also shave my armpits very very very very rarely (once every 2-3 months). You know my great grandma made this paste out of ash and water and some other things and applied it to my grandma's and auntie's under arms and when they first started getting hairs and she plucked out those hairs and they never got arm pit hair after that.
I am intrigued but I don't really want to apply homemade lye to my body parts.
Where did you pick up the Alba and Oyin stuff? (Also, now I'm scared of the funk butter, though I've read good reviews online...the name just weirds me out for some reason. I don't want butter on my armpits)
see I like the name funk butter for the funk part. Alba you can pick up in the natural beauty section at the wedge or whole foods. They sell alba stuff at target but I don't think they sell the deoderant. Also I forgot to mention the crytal or rock. That is super gentle and I like it on my underarms as well.
