Yoochun remembered clearly, the first time he smiled genuinely when his parents divorced was the day he received a call from S.M Entertainment.
“Hyung, do you really need to do this…?” 12 year old Yoohwan asked Yoochun.
“Yes, Hwan. I’ll make sure in future… Omma and your life would be better than how it is now… I have to do this.” That year, Yoochun was only 17 years old.
Yoochun actually didn’t plan to be a singer; he didn’t even plan to be a trainee in SM. It all just happened. His friend urged him to join the auditions, unexpectedly, he won.
Frankly, Yoochun loves music, other than his mother and brother; music is another important thing in his life. He has always love music more than being a singer, he didn’t really dream about being a singer at all.
“You will have to leave Omma and me right…? You’ll be going back to Korea…” Yoohwan turned to the other side and tugged his blanket, back facing Yoochun.
Guilt struck him. Leaving his brother behind was the last thing he would want to do, but… does he have any choice? Ever since their father left them behind, he took the male role in the house. He took care of everything for his brother and mother.
There was a period of time; they survived only on instant noodle. At that point of time, he swore, he promised, in future, he would make loads of money, so his mother and brother would at least have nice food, nice clothes, and a proper shelter that belongs to them.
“I promise, Hwan. I’ll make sure… I’ll be back for Omma and you.”
That night, a promise made. The next morning, a new beginning… No one ever thought a 17 year old Yoochun was actually just a child inside; he isn’t as strong as everyone sees him.

First time he entered SM, he saw posters of artistes under SM. H.O.T, S.E.S, Shinhwa and BoA by the corridor. He was lead by a staff to a meeting room, then after a few administrative procedures, he led Yoochun to a training room.
“You’ll have your training here. It will be an intense solo training for 3 months. Then you’ll get to meet the other band members.” The staff, Hyun Sang said.
“Excuse me…? I’ll be debuting soon…?” Yoochun asked, astonished.
“Yes. Though the group name is not confirmed yet, including you, there will be 5 members.” He said.
Yoochun never thought he would debut that fast. He didn’t expect it; he thought he’d still need to wait for 2 more years or so.
“Don’t worry. Let’s go.” Hyun Sang hyung patted his shoulder and pulled Yoochun out with him.
On the way out, they met 2 other boys.
“HyunSang hyung!” The 2 said in unison.
“Good afternoon boys, on the way to class?” He asked.
“Yes!” A boy with high pitched voice smiled.
Yoochun liked that smile, he have never seen someone smile like that… It’s real and genuine, filled with happiness…? For a moment, he was in a daze.
“Park Yoochun, you’re never going to learn how to smile like he did.” Yoochun thought to himself sadly.
After his family collapsed, he totally forgot how he used to smile.
The boy with the high pitched voice noticed Yoochun’s stare and turned to look at him. He gave Yoochun a nod when the other boy said, “Junsu, let’s get going, before we’re both late!”
The 2 boys quicken their pace and disappeared behind the 2nd door.
“One of them would be one of the band members of the group you’re joining.” Hyun Sang said to Yoochun.
Silently, Yoochun prayed it would be Junsu.
But Yoochun doesn’t know, in future… He lives for Junsu’s smile…
--
For the past 3 months, Yoochun didn’t make any friends. He doesn’t know how to, or maybe… He just doesn’t want to.
Every once in a while, he would be able to hear other trainees whispering behind his back, he took in all the nasty remarks thrown at him. They are right… Some of them trained for more than 3 years, but didn’t have the chance to debut. As for him, he only needed the 3 months of intense training and another 6 months practicing with his future group members, and he would be standing on a stage all trainees dreamt of.
He doesn’t blame them. Most of the time, he would just give a small smile and walk away. During those time, seeing Junsu’s smile coincidentally along the corridors when they past by each other often became Yoochun’s strength to continue.
Until one day, he was at the rooftop, just staring into the sky, he met her. He didn’t even notice her when she sat beside him without asking, until he saw a hand in front of him, holding a sandwich.
He blinked and turned to look at her.
“Here, have it. This is half of my lunch.” She said and smiled at him.
“It’s ok…” He said slowly… Well, it was not ok when his stomach starting growling.
She chuckled and placed the sandwich in his hands.
“Just eat it.”
“Th-thanks.” Embarrassed, Yoochun looked down.
He heard her chuckled and he felt his face became redder.
The both sat there in silent, until she broke it.
“The sky is beautiful, isn’t it?” She asked.
“Yea.”
“So… You shouldn’t use such a sad heart to look at it. A hopeful heart would be better isn’t it…?” She smiled at him gently.
He doesn’t understand…
“Everything you do, you have to always be positive. This is how you can survive in this kind of industry right?” She looked back up into the sky and stood up.
“Cheer up!” She said before turning her back and made her way towards the exit door.
That was when Yoochun guessed she was a dancer. She was in dark green cargo pants, fitting halter back with a jacket half zipped up. You could still see how perfect her body is under those clothes. Her long waist length hair was tied up to a high pony tail.
“What’s your name?” He asked.
“Gahee, Park Gahee.” She smiled one last time at him and closed the door.
“I’m Yoochun… Park Yoochun.” He said to a tightly closed door.
But he doesn’t know, in future… That leaving back-view would be a nightmare to him…
--
After that day, Yoochun would spend most of his free time at the rooftop, in hope to seeing her again.
His wait went from 1 week to 1 month… Until the day he met with the 4 other members in the meeting room with Lee Soo Man and other managers.
The very minute he stepped into the room, he saw Junsu. He felt a spark of happiness, but soon, it was gone.
Junsu wasn't smiling, he scoffed.
“He’s the guy who replaced Hyuk Jae? Someone who trained lesser than Hyuk Jae…?” Junsu said coldly.
He was angry, he really was. His best friend, Hyuk Jae, was supposed to be a member of this soon-to-be best boyband of Asia, and he got replaced by someone who only trained for 3 months…?
“Junsu, watch your words, Lee Soo Man and other managers will be here soon.” Hyun Sang said.
Junsu doesn’t know because of that 1 sentence, in future… He would regret badly… So badly that he loses his heart…
A/N: I am sorry if it's BORING. It's only the beginning...? ^^ Comments would be appreciated!
