Costume docket update for 2012
Other people's updates made me go "pshaw I don't need to I just updated mine in.....oh. Halloween. Yeah okay I can update." Not that there's much to say for finishing/working on things but there has been a lot of thinking.
Taking the year off from competition is nice, I feel free to just work on things and debut them when they're finished. But now that Junabi and I are going to Detour, we have some sudden new ideas that would do well being worn there. More on that later.

Sanji (Skypeia v.2) - One Piece - needs bandage "shirt" finished
Roronoa Zoro (post-Alabasta, Skypeia versions) - One Piece - clothing finished, just needs wig and boots. Currently working on sword sayas.
Portgas D. Ace - anime Alabasta coat - One Piece (shorts, necklace, and bracelet finished; coat and hat in progress, still need log pose, boot covers, knife, scarf, and backpack)

The "almost certainly" category is an interesting one. It contains a few things that are most likely going to be done for competition eventually, just not in this calendar year, as well as that new entry for Cao Pi. There's a story. See, this weekend was the MACS holiday party and it was a blast, but two things came out of it. One, our friend Jamie gave me a present: the DW5 artbook. FULL. COLOR. HUGE. PAGES. Thank god I only promised myself Gan Ning because the artbook detail makes Liu Bei look really tempting, among others. I'll probably do him this year, but I have no materials for him yet. Oh by the way he's not wearing a shirt at all.
The other thing happened when we were looking up DW7 characters to show people in the hopes of recruiting them into our CC31 group. We've tentatively decided to do our DW group for the scifi/fantasy masquerade, but right now all we have is Sima Shi and Sima Zhao, we need more than that to have a group. So while we were looking up character shots on the Koei wiki, we discovered the downloadable content for DW7. Hilarious school-themed outfits for all characters. That just led to searching up some of our favorite characters (Lu Bu is a COP. It's HYSTERICAL and I want it) and Junabi oohed and ahhed over Zhen Ji's schoolgirl outfit and wants to do it for Detour. So that meant I had to see Cao Pi so we could match...and yes. Oh god yes. I mean it'll make people mistake me for Japan from Hetalia but dear god he's wearing a delicious white coat and suit with purple and gold accents YES.
So that's where that came from. I bumped Death down because even though he's cool and I want to do him, I probably won't unless we actually get a Sims Medieval group together. Considering MACS already has a Disney princess group, a Sailor Moon group, and a couple other potential groups, I'm not sure when (or if) we'll get medieval. Hurr.
So this year for sure I'm going to finish ALL THE ONE PIECE, and probably Gan Ning. By the end of the year we have to have our plans for CC31 set and start on that, whatever it ends up being. There you go. Whichever gets finished in time for Detour, Ace or Zoro, is going to get debuted there, though we're also talking about wearing Yugi and Kaiba, Shuuhei and Rangiku, Sanzo and Homura, oh and I'm also making Water Seven version Nico Robin for Junabi so she can pair with me. As much as we know Detour is probably going to be lame, it'll be nice to have people fawning over our coordinated costumes again.
Meanwhile I'm in a holding pattern while people finish negotiating commissions and send me their measurements and deposits, so until then...I have nothing to work on. It's frustrating. I hate it. I feel useless. But it's 50 degrees today so I'm going to try to get out of the house for an hour or so.
