019: Random transport

Dec 02, 2010 00:08

[Jack has just stepped out of the shower, barely having time to wrap a towel around his waist when he finds himself the victim of a late round of the last experiment. With a blink, he finds himself transported... somewhere random.]

Well, can't say this hasn't happened before, at least.

[Jack looks around, trying to get his bearings. Is it your ( Read more... )

[Hello mostly naked man as she was roasting some type of small woodland creature on a spit over and open fire despite how cold it is today because she decided to go camping on the edge of the woods. At least she's well-dressed and there isn't snow in her immediate area because she cleared enough out of the way

...So nice to see you.]

Hey.

[Jack nods in greeting and moves closer to the fire. Yes, it is cold out here.] Hey there. Nice day, isn't it?

[Turning her spit a bit, she nods blandly but. Good answer; it's funny enough to make her smile a tad]

Nice entrance.

I always try to make a memorable first impression. [He doesn't seem bothered to be clad only in a towel, though he'll be getting cold pretty quick.] Captain Jack Harkness, nice to meet you.

Captain, huh? Nina Parker.

[That only got a small eyebrow raise, really]

British Royal Air Force, but if you're not from Earth, that probably won't mean anything to you. [He's about as close as he can get to the fire now without stepping on it.] So, just out for some hunting today?

Nope, not a thing. [But hum... she nods] Just a little. More sport than necessity.

[He holds his hands out, warming them.] Yeah, we don't exactly have to hunt for food around here. Sometimes it's satisfying, though. Where are you from? [He's really trying hard not to shiver now, and it's a very good thing she's got that fire going.]

[Pfft your freezing over there is just warming her heart She considers making her body into that of a melencarr just to spite him but... no, no then she'd need to replace her cloths. Besides she always looks stupid as one of them; too small]

If I told you, not like you'd recognize the name, right?

You'd be surprised. I've been around the galaxy a few times. Course, you could be from an entirely different universe, and I might not, but... try me.

[Galaxy. And... human. He smells odd though, something bugging her at the back of her brain. ...Hum.]

New Chicago, back before the LPR collapsed. [She lied.]

I've been to New Chicago. And New New Chicago... and New New New Chicago, depending on the planet and the year. Not familiar with that event, though, gotta say. Should know my history better. [Shivering? Yep. Damn cold, even if he is standing by a fire and chatting with a hot redhead.]

[OOC: That's a bit of canon inference on my part... there's canonly a "New New New York" in Doctor Who, so stands to reason Chicago might have done the same.]

[Not like he's her job to help him. But oh, really. Let's try this guy, he might actually be one of the first people who had a chance of making sense]

Following the Great Northern Race the Liastrian Peoples Republic is simultaneously invaded by the Solarian Empire, the Gian Imperium, and the Emperion. Given that it's already been beat to hell by the Kotar less than a six standard years earlier, it's in no shape to defend against that. It's not official declared disbanded until Standard Year 2689 though, mostly because it took them the better part of a year to find anyone left in the Party to do it.

[Yes, yes, this was less than a decade ago but she makes it sound historical; textbook.]

[Jack pauses, searching his memories for anything that sounds familiar, but to no avail.]

Sorry, doesn't ring a bell. Could be that I just haven't heard about it, or you could be from a different universe altogether. I haven't been everywhere yet, still got some time left.

[[OOC: Doctor Who universe is pretty expansive, so if you want Jack to have heard something of her world, he can, if it's even possible that it exists in the same universe as Earth.]]

compos_mentis December 11 2010, 07:32:56 UTC
[Nah, let's just stick with him not knowing. It does exist in the same one as a version of Earth]

...Heh. The universe is a big place, I've heard.

[If he hasn't heard of that though... Well, she has doubts]

And there's many of them, going by all the people here and all their different versions. Who knows, maybe I'll get around to seeing some of those too. [Not like he's going to be dying or even getting old any time soon. Though being immortal doesn't exactly help with being cold.]
