Thank you to those who took care of the Chocobos in my absence. Balthier would not allow me out of Latimir for the past few days. I am much better now, so I should not complain ( Read more... )

There's no need to give thanks. It's the least that could be done. Though, I'm still sorry that such misfortune befell us.

Nay, I am pleased people would help, as they have no reason to. Hence why I give thanks.

A misfortune for us, but we can hope that either we may catch and tame a few more Chocobos, or wait for a female to lay an egg and hopefully have a young chick inside.

I'm friends with one of the wild ones, I could always bring it back with me one day.

If you would like. There is plenty of room in the stables for it.

You are welcome to take a little of the Ghysal greens to feed it if you would like as well. I am sure it would appreciate it.

We've a new cow there. It's a monster cow. And a ghost, or something, I'm not real sure...

One of those odd looking cows that people have eaten quite often?

... a ghost? I do wonder how someone managed to capture that and have it stay in the stables.

Though if there is room for them and they do not harm the other animals I do not see why we should not have them.

Yeah, the tasty ones.

It's the pet of this really cool America guy. He said it wouldn't hurt the other animals, and it hasn't so far. Just be careful of it, I guess, y'know?

I see, well if it causes no harm I do not see why it cannot stay.

I shall keep an eye on it, thank you for the warning.

Good to know. That rogue did his best to aid you.

... you helped too, brother.

But Balthier kept me in bed. He is almost as stubborn as I.

That he is but you both have your reasons to be.

I would ask if you are feeling better, Noah.

You had been acting odd before...

Excuse me, but do you happen to have any rope that you aren't using?

May I ask what it shall be used for?

[Yes they are, and make 'wark' and 'kweh' noises.]

I think you would be safer staying inside currently. It has been extremely dangerous outside as of late.

I want to apologize for the death of your chocobos, it must be hard on you. I hope you don't mind that we cooked the lost ones. You're free to... eat them, if you like. That sounds a bit barbarous to suggest such a thing....

They belong to everyone here, not just I. Though I thank you for your kind words.

Miss Nani spoke to me about using their meat and I was perfectly fine with it. It made sense to use than to just toss away.

I've actually eaten Chocobo before back home. When on the battlefield sometimes it is necessary to take drastic measures to survive.

But you were still one who cared for them. From what I understand they are a little like ones horse, are they not?

It did make sense, and they are a valuable recourse. I think I could provide soup and stew for quite a time, as well as dry the meat for preserves.

You are a solder then?

Many others have as well, I cannot take all the credit. Mm, if you get close enough to them, they can be very faithful and quite loving. Much like a pet.

Then even though their deaths are a terrible loss, they can still help in the end. Back home there are people who could easily make use of a Chocobos entire body for something.

Aye. An ex-knight.
