Come visit and bring a few, I'm sure we'll find room somewhere. :)

On duck-day my mailbox was filled with seed! I have not yet had the chance to start them, though. :/ We also have not started preparing the site for the raised bed, argh. I'm sure we'll pull off some sort of garden, though. Slightly nervous, want it all NOW.

tell me about it. i'm nervously looking over the peppers, praying that they sprout.

we looked at the garden yesterday. we need a lot of compost and we have a LOT of mud and weeds. blah.

I just keep telling myself that I can't put anything out for quite some time anyhow, and even if I get a late start it'll be okay -- ground will be warmer and will still get a harvest, albeit a slightly late one. We have this book-unpacking project going on at home and I just haven't been very proactive about it when we get home in the evenings... So I really need to finish that before I sit down and plant seeds. Erg.

Building up the beds is going to be $$$ to start with too which I'm not thrilled about; the existing soil seems fertile but we don't know what sort of crap was added to it over the years, so we're not going to risk growing our food in it. We get free compost from the city but again, what's in it? I am going to grab a bunch for the flower beds, though.

Our backyard is all boggy and damp, though the duck pond aka big puddle is drining much faster than it did last year. Soon this will be a muddy memory. :)
