Ok..situation. You can vote, and or comment via comments as I can't actually make a poll here.

Fact One: It is a friends birthday.
Fact Two: Said friend REALLY does not like your significant other
Fact Three: You know that your friend does not like your significant other to a great degree.

Question: do you bring your significant other along?

I would have to say no dear. As well as I don't think said "significant other" would all too much mind being left out of the mix anyway

I agree with you darlin. I clearly would not bring you or Chanon to a party in which the guest of honor did not like one of you. But if someone other than your ex didnt like either you or Chanon I would be stunned.... completely into silence. Likewise, I would not expect to be taken to a party where the guest of honor did not like me.

If said friend did not like my significant other, I would make sure that they did not spend time together. Specifically on the friends birthday.

I would also have to vote no... if I were in that situation, I would just explain, diplomatically, to Joe why I couldn't bring him along, presuming he didn't already know that the friend didn't like him. It's the friend's birthday - I wouldn't want to do anything that she wouldn't enjoy.

Pretty decent... we've built a house, and are closing on it this Friday, so we're really excited about that. :) Other than that, about the same....

Well, a week late and several dollars short.. I finally found my way back to LJ. I sprained my ankle the day you originally posted and have spent a while in lala land followed by quite a more while dealing with work issues. But I digress.. Realizing that this is now incredibly late and that by now the day is inevitably over, I'd have to say that I agree with the others. How'd things go?
