Yes. When a small group of cells in a part of the brain stem called the pons are stimulated, they release a chemical called acetylcholine, which triggers REM sleep, and sends certain signals to the thalamus and the cortex. The frontal areas of the cortex process information during REM sleep and we experience that processing in the form of dreams.

I am not understanding all of the terms you use, but I think I know most of it.

Where does the information come from?

It seems like almost everybody is. There's not a lot I can do about it other than ask around and try to figure out what's going on.

I say talk to someone in the infirmary about drugs or... potions or something to help you sleep without dreaming. If you see anything that isn't a dream, let me know immediately.

I do not normally dream, Signor. How do I know any normal drugs they have would help me?

I'm pretty sure they have some drugs that aren't normal. I'll talk to the people in the infirmary and see what they've got.
