Relient K-oncert = Totally Wicked

Woah...that concert was A-W-E-S-O-M-E, IT WAS AWESOME IT WAS AWESOME...TOTALLY!

Sorry, I revert to my cheerleading days sometimes.

And since I'm so used to posting things behind cuts for community posts...Details of the concert are behind the cut.

So Thursday night I pulled an all-nighter finishing that onomastics paper and cramming for my Oceanography test. I decided to "just lay down for a minute" and then woke up an hour later (20 minutes late for my Oceanography class). However, God was smiling on me this morning; the test isn't until next week.

So then I had to go to Oral Interp *since I skipped Wednesday* and immediately after class I bugged out and began my 3 1/2 hour drive to St Paul for the Relient K concert, listening to nothing but RK the whole way there.

I get there and immediately realize that 98% of the people there are between the ages of 12 and 15...

So I wander off to call people and kill some time, and I look through the doors and see Matt Hoopes unloading golf clubs. He set them all up in a golf bag and then put them back in the bus...I have no idea why.

So anyway, a girl band played (not really my taste, but they were pretty good) then Rufio (complete with some good natured moshing...which actually was kind of fun) then MXPX...with not so good natured moshing...it was hell in there! Then RK...still bad moshing (more like people smashed into each other so tight it was collective movement than moshing really, but there was a really hot guy behind me). I got thrown down and trampled a bit...twice, I got some elbows in the ribs, shoulders, and back, and no fewer than 13 crowd surfers fell on me...but RK was so awesome I didn't care.

Oh yeah, I heard this girl behind me tell her friend, "I have mono, I hope no one catches it."

Well isn't that super.

I have no voice right now, but really, that was one of *the* best RK shows I've ever seen. It--was--fantastic.

So after the concert, I'm wandering around, (not really wanting to take off until traffic has eased some) and I'm kind of disappointed because I didn't get to talk to any of the guys. Then I see some people huddled outside where the tour busses are. So, although I was FREEZING, I waited with them and after a while Jon and John came out and did the whole autograph, picture, hugs and handshakes thing. (I always feel dumb asking for autographs or pictures...but they both signed my ticket stub) :D

And I got to talk to Jon for a bit before they left to eat. We talked about LOST...and I was surprised that when I said my name, he actually matched it up with my Myspace picture. He said, "I didn't recognize you because your photo is just...well... your eyes." And he is even nicer in person than he is on Myspace...if that is even possible.

So, then I drove home...listeneing to RK non-stop...again...

Their new Apathetic EP is FANTASTIC. It is an absolute must buy...go...go get it now!

But that's not all! When I logged on to Myspace today, Jon (the guitar player I was spazzing about a while ago because he talked to me on Myspace) left me a message saying he was sorry he couldn't talk longer and that we should hang out when they play Sonshine.

... *blink* *blink* *blink* So I messaged him and told him we will totally hang out...I'll buy pizza.

i am just...so geeking out right now.

Oh, Elly, one of Relient K's new songs, "In Like a Lion (Always Winter)" is awesome...and you will totally heart it. It's inspired by The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe.

I'm just so happy...like a fat cat...even though my shoulder is in an insane amount of pain from the concert...having people FALL ON YOU will do that.
