Already it's enough for a thesis

I just got out of a meeting with Mihai, and he said about what I have written that, "already it's enough for a thesis." How so long I've hoped to hear those words. It feels as if ten thousand layers of doom have lifted from my heart. It's not over, yet; there is still a whole bunch of work to do, but with the outline I made and a host of things ( Read more... )

They didn't have a regular job opening for the fall. I have some outstanding applications at the moment, and if I don't receive some responses within the next two weeks, I will email the lovely people at Weber to see if they have need for adjuncts. The reason I'm thinking about moving to LA is that there are a large number of community colleges in the area which almost always need math teachers, so I would likely have a lot of options. If an adjunct position ends at Weber, I'd have fewer options. Besides, working in the community college system would be (I hope) a temporary step towards a permanent position. . .

Sounds great! I'm sure it'll all work out well, one way or the other. Your backup plan seems like a really good one to me. Keep us posted.
