Patrick Stewart has had a surprising amount of Sci-Fi in his career, even before the whole Star Trek TNG thing. One of my favorites was Lifeforce. It had naked space vampires in it!
Aaaah, Lifeforce! Such a great movie, and source of one of my favourite ever lines!
"Where are you going?" "London!" "You don't want to go there!" "I know I don't"
It's really, really hard to tell if the movie's sending itself up a-la Garth Merenghi's Dark Place or whether it's taking itself deadly seriously. Perhaps it's doing both simultaneously.
"The Duke will die before these eyes, and he'll know... he'll know that it is I - Baron Vladimir Harkonnen who encompasses his doom!!!" (+ Lots of spittle)
Actually, the first Stewart quote I always think of from this movie is "Mood's a thing for cattle and loveplay!" -- just because it's so bizarre.
Or if you prefer, his reaction to Sting's Feyd-Rautha's challenge: "This is a Harkonnen animal! My lord, let me!" (Bizarre coming from Patrick Stewart.)
Oh no, you've set me off on a quotefest now, damn you!

Yup, and it was interesting that Patrick's accent seemed to carry just a little more Yorkshire than normal, too. :) I just don't think they had enough Patrick Stewart in there, would have been lovely to see his scenes with Tuek and the smugglers and with Jessica when he still thought she was the traitor (which were filmed afaik, but never made the cut).
