Stark is pretty sure the phrases 'FBI agent' and 'John Sheppard' are going to provoke an interesting reaction in this guy, but she's just crazy enough to find out. John should stop leaving her unattended with the X-Files. She balances the phone on her shoulder and waits for it, not really thinking what she may have gotten herself into.
OOC: So, hi, there! Sheppard-mun steered me in your direction; I am laughing muchly, as I play an X-Files muse who is currently partnered with John Doggett. The whole 'same actor/different character' joke was too fun to resist, so I friended you. Feel free to IM me anytime; I'm on at recoveringace.
It's quarter to three when Mack's phone rings, and when he answers the first thing Stark's going to hear is the sound of Mack Sumner swearing at a barking dog. "--get out of it, I swear to God I am going to--yeah, you go, fucking--sorry, damn, hi, Sumner speaking."
Stark has to laugh to herself while at the same time wondering what the hell is going on. She clears her throat. "Colonel, sir -- this is Special Agent Patrick with the FBI. Colonel Sheppard suggested I might want to speak to you regarding a case of mine. I thought I'd call and see if we could arrange something."
'Interesting reaction' isn't the half of it--but he's a private man, and most of it is all internal. She does to hear a cut off, quiet obscenity. "What exactly is it Sheppard thinks I can help you with, Agent Patrick?"
