1. (The question). Sixteen islands have populations of 10,000,000 or more. How many can you name?
2. (Follow-up). Number thirteen on the list is Salsette Island (in white, obviously, so as not to ruin question 1.). Where is that island? I didn't know before looking it up.

Japan
England
Java
Probably some other Indonesian island
Taiwan
Phillipines
Cuba
New York City
Haiti/Dominican Republic
I don't think Ireland, New Zealand, other Caribbean islands, Madagascar, Sri Lanka, Singapore are big enough.

England -- Great Britain is #3, yes
Java -- #1
Probably some other Indonesian island -- which one(s)?
Taiwan -- #6
Phillipines -- (sic) which one(s)?
Cuba -- #16
New York City -- nope. Long Island, the most populous US island, just misses the list
Haiti/Dominican Republic -- Hispaniola is #10, yes

-- Madagascar is #7 and Sri Lanka is #11.
An excellent start!

My guesses offhand, and then because I can't resist, I looked at the spoiler for #2. I've never heard of it, but if I had to guess I think it would be in the Philippines, since that seems to be ground zero for "ridiculously populated areas that don't get a lot of international attention."

The four you're missing include the mysterious island of question 2 (which is not in the Philippines, though it was a good guess) and three islands from countries already represented in your list.
