Ethics always lag behind science. Bioethics was a senior seminar, entirely optional, when I got my degree (93-97) and it was impressive that there even *was* a bioethics class.
When I last seriously considered studying bioethics, there were four schools in the US who would even consider accepting you as a student if you were not already a doctor, nurse or a practicing clinical director.
But well, maybe I should quit bitching and try to do something about it.
