Basically, lately I have been feeling pretty....I dunno, unimportant? i don't consider myself to be important, and I don't think that's the word I actually mean but for now, whatever ( Read more... )

Oh noie, Captain! Surely there are other ways to get feedback on your work! Set yourself up at a street fair, for one. Enter a juried show - get involved at a school?

Those are good suggestions... I hadn't thought of that...
Sometimes I draw in public for inspiration and some folks take notice and watch and talk to me, which is nice, but sometimes I want feedback from other artists, you know? :P

Captain-the fact that you want and can take criticism speaks volumes about your character-you should be applauded for it. Artists living in a vacuum surrounded by nothing but sychophants aren't being done any favors. In some cases, it is literally fatal.

I wish I could help you but I have not a talented bone in my body. For that reason alone, please don't give up. Your art gives voice to those of us who have none.
