rant comes with the patented adamdmills seal of approval. it's the first book in i can't remember how long that when i've finished it i've gone straight back to page one and started all over again.

but this advice comes too late, probably, all because of laws about time and space. also, because i was in bed when you posted.

it's not nearly as exciting as krakow or prague, but i just got back from three days in melbourne. it's great to be out of sydney, even if it's for less than 72 hours in total. all the more reason for me to come and hassle you guys in the good ol' US of A. i'm figuring this thing out as we speak, whether i can do it or not. cross everything for me.

Yep, I left the Scrabble board now and then and went out and acted social (actually, no acting - I FELT social) and made people like me without even trying and without feeling anxious or cynical about the process. It was pretty cool.this is my favourite paragraph because i know exactly what you're talking about, and it's wonderful

Your advice is actually totally well-timed - I ended up spacing on the bookstore yesterday and wandering around the town (and mall) instead... Today is the day! I hope they have rant.

I've only been to Melbourne once and didn't really get to see much of the city but the general consensus seems to be that it's all goodness. Then again, you could have gone to Timbuctu - sometimes it's just the need to get the hell away from Sydney.

Have you still saved that allbears disc for me?
