I am not joking....It was a blizzard. I was utterly frozen but had *such* a great time! And the best part, I got to see Santa at the end... I am *such* a ( Read more... )

The way you talk about that place makes me want to move there too!! Yay for snow! I'm a little jealous - most likely I'll see lots of rain, especially with Christmas it somehow always rains then, and maybe February has a little snow? Who knows. It just sounds like you had a great time despite the waiting and the cold! Hope you'll be encountering more days like this one!!

Oh, let me tell you, it is a great place! I mean, seriously. I'm sure the time will come when my love affair with Toronto will end (David Miller is doing a damm fine job!!) but for now....ahhhhh....cue the dreamy sigh...:D We have been warned by, well, pretty much *everybody* here that it will get cold but not as cold as other parts of Canada (because Lake Ontario protects us a little) but I say, "bring it on!" :D Until I have to shovel my way out of our apartment, of course :D

I'm sighing dreamy sighs along with you - I've always wanted to go to Canada and your words just make that desire grow within me :D
And I'm quite sure it won't help but I'm shooing at that Miller man to go away and leave you to enjoy Toronto haha! And Cold, much much better than heat I say... cold is kind of cosy and much more romantic ;) I feel a little silly for asking, but how does a lake protect a city against cold? Anyway, I'm happy for you that you've found a place where you can feel sort of at home/settled. I feel that it's something you deserve. And when the time comes that you actually have to shovel your way out of your apartment I really do want to hear you 'rant' or at least tell your story! A little sadistic perhaps from my side, but I think that'd be fun to read ;D

I forgot to mention that David Miller is the mayor of Toronto and well...blegh!!! Taxes, taxes taxes...that seems to be his main obsession. The lake, apparently, protects Toronto by making sure most of the snow gets dumped on Buffalo (cold weather front, warm wheather front...? something like that, I think... :D) and I shaka my fista at you in anga for being so sadistic as to want to read about me trying to dig my way out of a snowed in apartment! (Lol, not really of course, I understand how you meant it :D )
I've been lighting candles already, you are right :-) It is very cosy :-) that is the thing I like about winter, soon I'll be putting up the Christmas trees :-)

It is so surreal sitting here reading about SNOW and SANTA CLAUS when it's 36 degrees C and there are little geckoes running across my ceiling. I love my friends list! :-p

I knowm! Isn't the net amazing :-) It makes the world so much smaller in a way :-) When I read your entries about Oz (not so hot on commenting, for which I apologise) I keep trying to imagine hot weather...:-) Although I do really like snow, honestly :-)

Well, Toronto isn't Canada apparently :D At least that's what the locals tell me :D They feel it's more like New York (never been but dying to go) but I don;t care, I love it all the same :D Oh Canada!!

Firstly, yay you are back!! I meant to say that in the other comment I gave you! Really glad to hear that. :)

And what a fun story, that sounds awesome- a Santa parade! :) Glad you had a good time.

So would you definitely recommend a visit to Toronto? I am considering going next summer, because the Uni does a summer program, but I'm a little unsure, because I've never been there though and it would be a big commitment, for quite a few weeks. You enjoy the city though? Do you find it easy to get around and such? And do you feel safe there? Sorry to bombard you with questions! Just I always mean to ask but forget! :)
