I found out Friday night while working the spaghetti dinner for the Auxiliary that my favorite cat was hit by a rather large vehicle earlier in the day. On the upside, Jay said it was probably quick and painless since identifying the body, for lack of a better term, was incredibly difficult. We're assuming that it was Benji since he hasn't been home since Friday morning and the cat in the road was declawed. The barn cat two houses away that looks almost the same as Benji has all it's claws.
He was actually my sister's cat, but it turned into a joint custody situation while I was living with my sister. He was a really lovey dovey cat even though he was the dumbest pet I've known. And I mean that in the most loving way. For anyone who has seen 50 First Dates and remembers the character of Ten Second Tom...we had Ten Second Benny. He was accidentally shut in a fridge for about twenty minutes when he was a kitten. We're asuming it resulted in the loss of brain cells.
So Benny, aka Stupid Kitty, aka Black Bastard...I'm going to miss you and all your stupid antics. It's time for you to plot world domination from your little piece of land in the great beyond.
