No, he never learned as a child, but we are both planning on taking classes soon. He wants to visit Japan with me in about two years to see his home land and family. He's mom still speaks Japanese but just never taught him or his older brother.
*nod* I think that's pretty common, it seems to go one of two ways...either they try to make the kid think they're Japanese, and only speak that at home, or they want them to grow up American, and don't teach it at all.
You should study, it's a lot of fun, although quite difficult as languages go....
*hugs* Thank you! I've been signing in every so often to keep up with everyone, but just haven't posted myself. I'm glad to see you got your car working again. I had the same problem with my last car except mine couldn't be fixed. I had to get a new vehicle.

Does your bf speak any Japanese? If so, tell him "kimi no konojo wa shinsetsu na hito."
