The Doctor and Master bickered about everything to the point the Doctor was confident to assume the Master chose everything opposite of his opinion out of retaliation of having a limited control over the TARDIS console. There were plenty of times the Master used up the hot water, hid things to see how long the Doctor fritted about in a mad search for said item, and there was that time he dyed the pool purple and nearly convinced the Doctor it wasn't just water but the very alkaline water from the hot springs of the planet Grum.
Finally out complete irritation, the Doctor threw his hands up in the air one day after taking a bite of pancake where there was more salt than anything else. "Fine! I get it! I know you're mad at me, but its for both our sakes the lock is there. If I release it for today only, will that satisfy you? Just don't kill us." He sat there looking rather irritated with his arms crossed over his chest.
