My birthday weekend

Nov 05, 2008 19:57

I want to apologize for not writing an entry in awhile. There hasn't been much to post for me.

Here is what happened on Saturday (November 1st). I had to go to Target to get a few things and then I was going to meet up with April there. From there April and I headed on over to Phoenix Muni (where the Oakland A's train in ST) to meet up with our friend Tricia. We were going to go to an Arizona Fall League game to see the Dbacks, Rockies, A's, Twins and Blue Jays prospects play against the team that had the Cardinals, White Sox, Mets, Nationals and Padres prospects. When we got in we went over to the Phoenix Desert Dogs side that had the Rockies and Dbacks prospects. The first autograph we got was from Michael McKenry from the Rockies and April and I each got our picture with him too. Then we got Eric Young Jr also from the Rockies and got our picture with him. Then during the game another Rockie prospect was in the stands and I got my picture with him and that is Chaz Roe. During the game Eric Young Jr hit a grandslam. His dad showed up to the game and he had missed the grandslam by like 5 minutes. His dad retired as a Rockie this year. He signed a one day contract with the Rockies and then he retired. The Phoenix Desert Dogs won 8-5. After the game April and I were able to meet David Eckstein's brother Rick which is one of the coaches on the visiting team and he happens to be one of the coaches of the Nationals. We got our picture with him and his autograph. From there we headed on over to Scottsdale stadium to meet up with a friend of ours Brian and from there we were going to go over to Home TOwn Buffett to get something to eat. We (me, April, Tricia and a lady we met Kathy) rode with Brian. We got something to eat and we met up with a friend of ours Rally Sally (Cindy) there too. So it was the 6th of us. We were having a great time. Then we left to go back to Scottsdale Stadium to go to another Fall league game and the teams were Scottsdale Scorpions (Giants, Red Sox, Angels, Pirates and Astros) against the Surprise Rafters that had Orioles, Royals, Rangers, Dodgers and Indians. That night they were having Pat Tillman night (Pat Tillman used to play in the NFL and left the NFL to join the Army Rangers and was killed a few years later serving). They were raising money for the Pat Tillman foundation by having an auction and also the tickets sold that night would go toward the foundation. Eric Byrnes and Orlando Hudson were going to make an apearance at the game. I was able to get my picture with Orlando Hudson and also Eric Byrnes' autograph. Then I went on the Rafter's side to get autographs and I got some autographs there. The Rafters won 7-1. We had a great time.

Then on Sunday (my birthday) I just stayed home and relaxed.
