Isn't oppression such a neat little thing? People either suffer or prosper from it. Governments rise and fall based upon its existence. It seems that in the grand scheme of things, people either bear the brunt of its burden or visit that burden upon another human. What can I truly say though? Your post is beautiful, and it reminds us that there's a face with real feelings behind every person we turn away at our door. To turn aside a human being based on the whims of the heart invites not only shame, but also betrays the qualities that, in the end, are supposed to make human to begin with.
