Back blog day 3: a detour and clothes for the new me
I took my Garmin for a walk again this morning. I was slow. I kept drifting to a 14-minute mile. On the other hand, I enjoyed myself, and that's not a bad thing. Fanciest toad ever
Gretchen and I each had some struggles and sadness today. But we redeemed it. We ate oatmeal peanut butter cookies out on the front step and listened to a thunderstorm roll in. I think I failed to write about G's kindness club this year. According to her, there was a girl in her grade (but not in her class) that was being "mean" to other girls (not to G in particular.) Back blog day 2: Downess
I couldn't get comfortable last night, and I woke up really stiff and painful. I had planned to wake up feeling great after doing some exercise and research yesterday. Nope. Mile 22. Commence crawl.
Yes, my back hurts every time I try to run. Or bend. Or put on clothes. But I still think like a runner. This morning when I woke up at 4:30am again again again, I thought I couldn't do it. When my physical unwellness made me drop out of depression therapy I was stalled out at trying to be hopeful about the future. So much of my understanding of the future at the time revolved around running events and, even on a daily basis, going for runs. It was the #1 thing in every day and the thing I looked forward to next. My goals were races. ( Read more... ) -

I can't sleep. It doesn't happen all that often, which is surprising given that all of the things keeping me awake are usually true. My hips hurt. I have nothing lovely to think about. I realized that in addition to losing my ability to run and enjoy my body in that manner, my body has also ceased to be touched by others. Where it used to be ( Read more... ) -
Sadder than sad
After seeing the chiropractor on Friday, I actually feel some better already--better as in less physical pain. I want to remember that that's not nothing. When you are not in pain it's easy to take that for granted, even if you can remember back a week or two to feeling like quitting life from pain. News on my back
As I was driving home from my appointment with the chiropractor last night, I felt like I had lived about two months worth of intensity in one day, (I had such awesome teacher moments! And I had a student whose father died but she was in school anyway,) and it was too much to hold in my head. Plus, I had to make cupcakes and then read to the kids, ( Read more... )
