I was thinking on the bus the other day about how there seems to be no Chicago house in Chicago. It must be around somewhere but it's certainly not celebrated by the city or even recognized by its music press. I've seen articles on the old days of Veruca Salt & co., Chicago blues, local punk & metal history (& jazz of course) but nothing about house.
That is really really weird. It makes me wonder if Detroit denies any connection to techno.
On a related note: I found it terribly unsettling when I couldn't find any pop music in Sweden despite going to pretty crazy lengths to smoke out even a trace of it.
Next year I can probably salvage something & make a happening out of it. Maybe if I'm around your neck of the woods around that time? Well until then, I'm content with knowing that people are indulging in hedonistic Halloween shenanigans.
Hey Cara, this is Nat, Jordan Richer's friend, we met a couple of times... how the heck do you know Morag in Edinburgh?! I saw your comment on her blog. What a very very small world.
