Can I be head of the KGB?..

*blinkblink*

You know, that argument makes sense. I could work one less hour a day and I'm sure I could get the same amount of work done...

And of course, because we stress ourselves so much at work, we have high heart attack rates and all the negative side effects of stress...which keeps us weak and thus keeps us from rebelling.

Good thinking comrade! You've definitely earned the title of Head of the KGB!

Great point, Melissa! thekwev February 13 2007, 19:28:06 UTC
Yes, and the mandatory lunch hour serves a two-fold purpose. First off, we are encouraged to eat drink and be merry. Typically, we consume turkey sandwiches (ripe with tryptophan) which make us too slothy to march against anything at all. Second, we are made fatter and - thus - cannot literally fit into the meetingplace of any underground movement.

It's like that song "Fatties Can't Go Underground" by the Flaming Lips. Or did I imagine that one?

It's being freakishly intelligent in a way that makes my heart sing in all the right ways. Your ideas are interesting, and I already subscribe to your brochure. Therefor, I will give you shelf, for you seem as though you could use it. *RADIATING LOVE!*

I could totally use shelf. Honestly, you're absolutely right. I'm so bored at work right now, and the work itself is so monotonous and uninteresting and doesn't require nearly as much brain power as I wish it did. Honestly right now I'm CRAVING a crossword puzzle...a BIG one...the kind where the little numbers that number the boxes go into triple digits. I'm feeling a bit burnt out and could use a vacation...my brain's turning to mush and leaking out of my ears. Thankfully I get president's day off next Monday...3 day weekends are pretty!

My mother is also similarly looking forward to the coming three-day, especially since training during that time that would have required a drive down to Florida has be canceled for her.

Today, I was just talking about the surprise!tomato pie we had in the office, once upon a time. Do you ever get office freebies?

Haha very much so. One of the tables in our kitchen is the equivilant of the food-cube at work. We constantly get leftover sandwhiches from meetings and desserts and all kinds of goodies. The holidays were ridiculous with the amount of food that popped up. Also, my boss surprises us with fresh soft-pretzels from the pretzel factory every month when we have our monthly meeting...in fact the room where that meeting is held automatically makes me crave soft pretzels a la Pavlovian conditioning. One of my project managers brings bagels every few weeks or so for my team on Friday mornings, so I'm well fed here.
