Miranda Richardson; Period Costume

A Miranda Richardson picspam. ♥

Made for the_friday_spam.

This week's prompt is my favourite prompt so far. I had loads of fun putting this picspam together. As I've said before, Miranda looks so gorgeous in period costume that she looks as though she's just stepped out of history. I hope you'll enjoy the picspam! :)

I am soooooooooooooo glad you did a Miranda spam! Empire of the Sun was the first Miranda movie I saw, and I loved her on sight :D All the pictures were absolutely gorgeous, and I especially loved The Night and the Moment pics!

Thank you! Oh, I sobbed my eyes out watching The Lost Prince. It was terribly sad; you could see how much the Queen felt, but was unable to express it.

p/s - I noticed you credited an unregistered username for the icon you're using. I'm the one who made the icon. :)

Lovely... just lovely! :-)

Miranda really does suit period costumes and older era's :-)
Great pics, enhanced of course by your colouring of them!

I've owned the DVD of 'The Night and the Moment' for years but have never got round to watching it; I've read and heard such terrible things about it - did you like it?
I adore Lena Olin so I really ought to get round to it, I suppose...

Thanks so much! :)

She really does, doesn't she? In fact, I usually prefer her costume dramas more than her modern film roles with the exception of LOL, her occasional appearances on comedy/satire sketches on Brit TV. :D

I thought it was all about sex and more sex but since it's considered an 'erotic film', I suppose it should be expected. I did love the details on Miranda's costume though. Leave it to me to watch a film and end up studying the sets and costume design instead. XD

It's kind of hot. Worth watching, but don't expect much more than softcore porn :P

I think the main actor casting was kind of FAIL, because he's this Casanova sort of character who's slept with this great many women, and he's WILLEM DAFOE. I just... well, I have trouble believing that, because Willem Dafoe just isn't that sexy.

But the women are beautiful, so you should totally watch it.

She's lovely! I haven't seen her in much - just The Hours, PotO, and Harry Potter - but I was in love with her, and her character, in Phantom. I'm a huge Phantom phangirl in general, honestly, but I'm totally with you on loving the Erik/Giry relationship. It's fascinating. I don't really ship it, I'm pretty die hard Erik/Christine, but I'd have loved to have it explored more (and it is, in several of the books).

Anyway, enough rambling. Beautiful pictures, and beautiful spam!

Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked!

Madame Giry is my favourite character of the film. I think if I'd seen another Christine apart from Emmy Rossum, I wouldn't dislike the character so much. I've never seen the stage version, only the film. I liked Leroux's Christine though. ♥

Books? There are books? :O

I love Erik, Christine, and Madame Giry (though I like Emmy Rossum as well), and the dynamics between all three. I saw the stage version a few years ago in London and it was incredible, a totally different experience. I think Giry is the most mysterious, besides the obvious mystery of the Phantom, so that's kind of fascinating.

Yeah, beyond Leroux, there's the Susan Kay version - which I adore - and then theres The Phantom of Manhattan, which is pretty lame but has a lot more Giry in it!

They usually tour to Singapore, thus so far, I have not gotten the chance to see it yet. I remain hopeful. :)

Ah, thank you for the information! *Googles*
