So... my neighborhood has supermarkets that sell live fish. Swimming and everything? Yeah!
I went to one of said markets to get some flounder slices. The guy behind counter sniffed the fish told me to hang on while one of his co-workers got a fresh stash from the back room. While it was brought out and the container was hosed down, someone asked for a particular fish.
I saw the guy pull up a live black fish with a net and dropped it on the back counter to flop around.
He quickly pinned the fish down with his hand and grabbed a yellow sledgehammer to pound the fish at the head.
It took three four whacks of hammer on skull action for the fish to finally stop moving.
I watched every one of those whacks and the fish stared at me before his face popped to a 80 expression at that last whack.
Then i saw the guy scrape some scales off, cut the fins off and de-gut the fish but then I got my flounder from the other worker and went to pay for it.
It's .... I dont know how i feel about watching that! XD
