"I don't see how this could be better than a sword," Eustace said as he stared doubtfully at the blade Edmund had just given him; to his inexperienced eye, the blade appeared to be of quality workmanship but he thought it far too similar to a common kitchen knife.
"If you'll allow me..." Caspian reached for the dagger and proceeded to demonstrate its advantage by swinging it around in wide arcs, carving invisible circles around his body as his feet slid about the sandy beaches of the island they just landed on.
Lucy held her hand out for the weapon once the King had finished and after giving her brother a quick wink, threw the blade toward a copse of beeches, noting with satisfaction that it struck deep into the tree that stood in the center before she said, "One could hardly do that with a sword."
