Title: Moonlit Symphony
Pairing: JeTi
Word Count: 541 words

It was eerily quiet when she awoke. Jessica furrowed her brows, blinking rapidly to rid of her blurry vision. Taking in the fazing darkness, her mind finally registered that she was in fact, back in reality. She stared at the plain, beige ceiling for a long time, thinking of absolutely nothing, just staring. She took note of the dim, glowing light seeping through the poorly drawn window blinds beside her. It was eerily quiet, she noted again. Normally, there would be the sound of the hum of the air vent going, or the gentle knocks on the window from the wind-rustled tree branch, maybe occasionally the sound of a flush from a member going on a nightly trip. But this time, it was silent, and it was this silence that allowed her to enjoy the show.

The show was in full swing.

Jessica peered to her other side and cracked a small, lazy smile at the sight. Tiffany was laying on her back, her face slightly turned towards her, her mahogany hair cascaded over her pillow, peacefully sleeping. Jessica’s arm was propped under the girl’s neck, Tiffany’s arm stretched upwards so her hand rested in Jessica’s. She peered downward, noting the comforter had fallen down to their midsections.

With great effort, Jessica scooted as close as she could to Tiffany’s body, nuzzling her head into her exposed neck. Once settled in, she brought her other arm and rested it delicately on Tiffany’s chest. Oh, how she could hear the music play. Against the back of her hand, she felt the thump of the girl’s soft heartbeats. The drums played its rhythmic tune, vibrating its beat up Jessica’s arm until it resonated with her own beating heart.

She didn’t peer upwards, but on the base of her forehead, she could feel a slight breeze grazing her bangs every few seconds. They were the blissful chimes of Tiffany’s breaths, steady and slow; always beautiful and admired. Jessica especially loved the particular notes that came with every breath blown from her nose, because there was a slight wheeze; it wasn’t enough to call it a snore, but it was a small squeak, and she loved it to death.

Feeling a little adventurous, Jessica slyly removed the hand on hers, bending her arm so her hand now hovered over Tiffany’s neck. Her fingers grazed over the smooth skin, her nails trailing back and forth as if she too were playing an instrument. Her gentle efforts paid off, however, when she heard a slight moan emit from the slumbering girl. It was guttural and raspy and short, but it was the sound of her voice that highlighted the show. Jessica hid her smile into Tiffany’s neck, finding herself falling in love again every time she heard that tiny solo. Tiffany didn’t faze in her sleep, returning to playing the same tune she was playing earlier.

Underneath the blankets, Jessica haphazardly threw a leg over the resting girl, followed by drawing up the comforter so it rested gently over their chests. Sighing a tired relief, she placed a lazy kiss on the still neck, feeling her eyes becoming lidded with sleep once more.

It was this moonlit symphony that was always successful in lulling her to sleep.

Yuri lazily groaned when she heard frantic shuffling and general ruckus within the room. Several minutes would pass when she heard the door open, items being moved around, footsteps trampling around, and then hear the door close again. After hearing the said procession multiple times, she felt her face contort into a frown, haphazardly throwing the blanket over her head. When the commotion died down, she inwardly sighed in relief as the room fell into silence. However, just as she felt her conscious falling back into sleep, the door slammed viciously open, her body jolting in reaction to the loud noise. Snorting in frustration, she threw her body into sitting position, locking eyes with the culprit.

"Yah!"

Yoona froze at her spot, holding a plastic bag in a manner that looked like she had committed a crime.

Glaring at her for a while, Yuri stole a quick glance at the clock on the nightstand, reading it to be 7:00 AM. Feeling her chest swell with more frustration, she asked in a defeated tone,

"Yoona…this is one day we have a break. What on Earth could you possibly be doing this early in the morning?"

The tall girl smiled her toothy grin, moving past the bed to set the plastic bag onto a desk, chirping happily,

"I’m glad you’re awake, Unni. Now I don’t have to wake you up!"

"Except you were the one who woke me up…" Yuri muttered, crawling over the blankets to sit at the edge of the bed closest to the desk.

Yuri watched as the younger girl plopped herself onto the office chair. She took notice of the large amount of items on the desk that previously weren’t there before: the plastic bag, obviously, a large plastic jar, a tube of golf balls, a packet of sand, and a cup of water.

"What’s with all the stuff?" Yuri inquired.

Yoona giggled softly, only stating, “Just watch. I saw this on the Internet."

Yuri rolled her eyes, knowing very well that this was one of Yoona’s daily Choding antics.

Yoona first took the large jar and set it at the center of the desk. Next, she tore open the tube of golf balls and poured them in. Then, she reached for the plastic bag and dumped its contents into the jar: pebbles.

"Where did you get those?"

"I got them this morning; I just went outside before you woke up."

Yuri watched as Yoona continued to pour more stuff into the jar, dumping in the sand and the water in that order. All the while, she noted the younger girl had a cheeky grin on her face, and she felt in her heart that she couldn’t stay mad at the girl’s childish tendencies, feeling a smile on her lips as well. Finally, Yoona heaved up the jar filled to the brim with its contents and showcased it to her.

"Ta-da!"

The tanned girl stared at the jar for a while, raising her eyebrow at the array of items jam-packed into the container.

"I don’t get it, is this suppose to be art?"

"No!"

Yoona set the jar onto her lap, gazing at it for a while. “They say that this jar is suppose to represent life," She used her finger to point at the variety of items, “And the golf balls represent the really important things in life, like family and friends. The pebbles are the smaller things, like your job, and the sand is the trivial things. All the items have to be put in in a certain order, or else the items won’t fit. Like, if you put the sand in first, there wouldn’t be any room for the golf balls. It’s cool, right? It’s deep, right?"

Yuri looked from the jar to Yoona, who was bouncing in her chair, her eyes gleaming with excitement. She then returned her attention to the jar, noting the splotches of dark sand.

"So, what does the water represent?"

"Ah, that? Well, no matter how jam-packed your life is, there’s always room to grab a drink with a friend."

The two girls sat in silence for a while, the words sinking into Yuri’s mind. After a while, Yuri scoffed and pointed an accusing finger at the younger girl.

"You… You only did this because you wanted to grab a drink with me, right?"

Hearing her claim, Yoona laughed whole-heartedly. She set the jar onto the desk once more and rolled in her chair around in a hyper manner thrashing her limbs about, merrily chattering away.

"Unni knows me the best! I’m thinking coffee, because it’s so early in the morning. But, if Unni wants to, we can go get Bubble Tea. Or a smoothie! Maybe even go to a convenience store! But no drinking at home! That’s no fun."

Yuri could only chuckle and shake her head at the girl’s raving. She stood up and dragged Yoona up from her seat as well.

"Let’s go get coffee, then."

"Yay! Coffee~!" Yoona skipped to the doorway, singing the word “coffee" as she went. “Unni, I’ll wait for you to change. Hurry though!"

And with that she closed the door. However, Yuri could still hear her shrill, excited voice behind the door, though slightly muffled.

She didn’t realize it, but Yuri’s face was hurting from a large smile on her face. She pushed at her cheeks with both her palms, shaking her head once more as she went for the closet.

"Stupid Choding…"

Jessica yawned lazily, rolling over to lay on her side. Carefully settling into her new position, she tucked an arm under the pillow to support her head and retracted her other arm so that her hand pressed against her chest. She wouldn’t have been struggling to find a comfortable position if it weren’t for the fact that the bed was particularly small for a full size. She gazed intently at the image in front of her: Tiffany was resting against the backboard of the bed, her eyes fixed on the phone in her hand, the mechanical clacks of typing ticking away. To be precise, what was really in front of her was a close-up image of Tiffany’s bare thighs, exposed by her denim shorts, but Jessica strained her eyes to the farthest corners of her visions for a more captivating view:

Her eyes.

Feeling a rather invading glare on her, Tiffany would occasionally tear her gaze from the phone and peer downwards at the lounging girl, but Jessica always ducked her head and closed her eyes in hopes to fool the girl that she was sleeping. However, as soon as she felt the investigating eyes return its attention to the device, she would immediately peel her eyes open and enjoy the view once more. This little game lasted for several rounds, until eventually, Tiffany caught on that Jessica was actually conscious (at one glance, she saw a corner of her lips twitch upwards, as if she was suppressing a laugh).
With Jessica’s vision pitch black, she first heard the sound of a soft sigh, followed by the sound of the phone clinking rashly against the bedside table. Next, she heard the mattress squeak from shifting weight, accompanied with the sound of fabric being rustled. Jessica felt her body become rigid and stiff when the last thing she heard was a steady exhale incredibly close to her face.

"Hey." She heard Tiffany say softly.

Jessica still attempted at her act of sleep. However, when she heard the husky tone of her voice, she knew that her jaw visibly tightened, making her efforts of deceit futile.

"I know you’re awake. In fact, I know you’ve been staring at my face this entire time. Wanna explain why you’re been extra creepy today?"

Jessica finally opened her eyes, but she didn’t look at the questioning gaze in front of her. Rather, she kept her eyes low, looking at the outline of Tiffany’s collarbone that peeked from the flaps of the button-up shirt. She lightly poked the tip of her tongue against the corner of her mouth in a mixture of nervousness and pondering for explaining herself. After keeping silent for a long minute, she managed to blurt out,

"I’m in love with your eyes."

She could tell that Tiffany was grinning; perhaps her eyes were transformed into that adorable moon shape that accompanied her smiles, and the thought of that image also made Jessica grin.

"Really? My eyes?"

Jessica nodded in confirmation.

"What about my eyes? Because they’re brown?"

Jessica broke into a light chuckle, shaking her head.

"Fany-ah, nearly everyone here has brown eyes. It has nothing to do with the color of them."

Jessica could tell that Tiffany was confused, adorning the same expression a puppy would have when confronted with something unknown followed by a slight head-tilt. In her low gaze, she caught sight of a loose, white strand coming out of the corner of Tiffany’s shirt. She reached for it, delicately twirling the fabric around a finger in an act to busy herself as she proceeded to explain,

"Everything you look at, every person you look at, your eyes always carry this strong passion in them. And, there’s something so captivating about the depths of your eyes, and if anyone looked deeper, they would dive into the essence of your soul…"

With her finger now fully wrapped in the string, Jessica clenched her hand around the string and on the edge of the shirt that it sprung forth from. She gulped nervously. Maybe she had said too much. Perhaps what she had spewed out sounded absolutely ridiculous and stupid and cheesy.

Jessica froze when she felt a palm press against her cheekbone. She attempted to duck her head, but she found that the hand served to control and limit her head movement.

"If you like my eyes so much…" Tiffany murmured, using her light grip to push the girl’s head upwards so that their eyes were parallel to each other. When she saw that Jessica had closed her eyes tight, she edged her thumb to the corner of her lid.

"Why do you keep avoiding my gaze?"

Jessica sighed a shaky breath as she felt the thumb massage the corner of her eye. She reached up her free hand to rest her palm on top of Tiffany’s. She slyly cracked open one eye, enough to let her see Tiffany’s awaiting gaze, as she uttered her confession.

"Because I know that I’ll drown in them…and my death would mean that I would be engulfed by you more than I already am now."

Title: (Not Actually A) Quarrel
Pairing: JeTi

"She’s late."

"Oh Fany-ah, please do tell me for the 14th time on how late she is?" Sooyoung questioned, her words laced with sarcasm, shoveling a handful of popcorn into her mouth with one hand and holding a remote in the other.

Tiffany managed to stop in her pacing tracks to rashly shove her sleeve up, revealing the watch on her left wrist.

"It’s been 2 hours now. It’s been 2 hours since she said she’d be home!"

She groaned exasperatedly, throwing her arm in a downward swing as she resumed her frantic pace.

"What a crime! Maybe she’s too afraid to come home to your beautifully angry face?"

"Shut up."

Sooyoung cackled, returning her attention to the blaring TV to let Tiffany fume in the kitchen, where she wandered to every so often in her repeated trek. She halted in front of the kitchen window, watching heavy raindrops beat against the glass and hearing the roaring winds rustle the trees outside. For a few seconds, her heart constricted with worry, wondering where Jessica could possibly be at this late hour. However, when she remembered why she wasn’t here, it fueled her rage once more, causing Tiffany to sneer and walk into the living room.

"What the hell does Jessi think she’s doing that this time?!" Tiffany spat to herself. Sooyoung could only roll her eyes, knowing she was going to spew out the same things she had been repeating the entire evening.

"First she cancels our dinner date that we’ve been planning for the entire week, and then she says that she can’t come practice with me at the studio? What the hell is she doing that she can’t even do that?! And here we are, waiting for nearly 2 hours because she said she’d be straight home as soon as possible. God damn, when she shows her face, I’m gonna… I’m gonna…"

Tiffany groaned furiously, rustling her hair with both her hands, pacing at a faster rate. Sooyoung merely sighed, raising the volume on the TV.
Both girls flinched when they heard the front door open. Tiffany steeled herself in her position, crossing her arms as she gathered her anger for what she anticipated would be a heated fight. The victim of her rage soon appeared into the living room.

Jessica was adorned in a light leather jacket and denim jeans. Not only her clothes, but her face and her hair were completely soaked, carrying the scent of rain with it. In one hand, she carried a plastic bag, and she used her free hand to throw her squeaking boots into the closet. Only when she looked up did she meet eyes with the beast.

"Jessica Jung Sooyeon, where the hell have you-"

Tiffany stopped when Jessica abruptly raise her hand, signaling her to stop. The action caused Tiffany to feel only more irritation as she gulped her anger.
"Listen, I know you’re pissed…" Jessica started, lowering her hand, cautiously staring into Tiffany’s furious eyes. Sooyoung took the bowl of popcorn into her lap, locking her eyes onto the TV in hopes of avoiding the drama ensuing behind her.

"You have every right to be mad. It’s my fault that our plans got ruined, and I’m sorry for it. And even though I’m apologizing to you right now, you’re probably thinking that I won’t be able to do anything to make it up. I understand that no matter what I do or say to you now, you will still be mad, so…"
Jessica raised the bag in her hand in the air, a smirk on her face as she gave it a little shake.

"I assembled a kit to help you get through your anger. By the way, the reason I’m home late is because I was busy buying all these things."

Jessica maneuvered to the kitchen table, setting down the bag and rummaging through it. All the while, Tiffany glared at her, mouth agape, speechless.

"Let’s see, I got some strawberry ice cream. It’s the reduced fat kind, because I think it’s bad you take out your rage on your body. And then… I rented those Twilight movies you like to spazz over, because you know, the couple’s relationship is clearly more functional than ours, right? I also picked up this CD. The clerk said that you listen to it when you do yoga. I figured you could use this, because stress is bad for your heart, and I certainly wouldn’t want that."

Placing the last item on the wooden table, Jessica spun around to face Tiffany, who was frozen in her spot. The blonde fingered the edge of her damp shirt, before declaring,

"Well, now that you have everything you need, I’m going to go take a shower before you start yelling at me that I’ll catch a cold. Have a nice pissy party."
And with that, Jessica headed towards the bathroom. Snapping out of her trance, Tiffany stared at the items, unknowing of how to feel. She didn’t know if she should even feel gratefulness that she thought about her in such a caring way. However, she was suddenly overcome with a strange sense of anger, trailing after Jessica as she shouted,

"God damn it, Jessi! You think you can just be smooth like that to avoid my fury?! I’ve been holding my rage this entire night, you come back here right now and fight with me!"

Tiffany followed Jessica all the way into the bathroom, where Sooyoung heard the bathroom door shut behind the two. For a long time, she listened to the garbled sound of Tiffany’s booming voice. Seeing that the TV was as loud as possible, she shook her head in defeat. Sooyoung heard Tiffany’s voice become more quiet, drowned by the sound of running water. After that, there was only the drone of the shower. For a while, she thought there was finally a moment of peace. However, the peace was shattered when there was a thump against the wall, and Sooyoung felt her eye twitch when she heard a muffled moan.

She reached towards the bowl to scoop up some popcorn, but was met with air. Seeing the bowl was empty, Sooyoung inhaled deeply, nearly screaming as she tossed the bowl onto the coffee table. Letting out a heavy sigh, she lolled her head against the couch. However, she remembered the ice cream on the table, whirling her head around to eye the container. Biting her lower lip, she reasoned with herself,

I’ve had a stressful day. I work hard. I come home to relax. I planned for myself a quiet night of watching TV. But then I was subjected to endless hours of torture of couple drama. My evening was ruined. I deserve compensation.

Satisfied with her logic, Sooyoung lunged towards the ice cream, grabbing the closest spoon she could find. Plopping onto the couch, she attempted to enjoy the rest of the night indulging on ice cream while watching TV.
