The last few weeks have been rotten. I started injecting insulin four times a day, and although it brought down my blood sugar a little, and made me feel OK for a little while, the effects soon wore off. Well, my first day of injecting insulin in myself has gone by without too much trouble. I'm really only onto proper treatment today, as I didn't have my first injection of slow-acting insulin until last night, which provides a constant low level of insulin throughout the day, so I'll have a better idea of how its working tomorrow. Back in 2006 I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I'm not overweight, my diet's pretty good (being vegetarian helps) and I get plenty of exercise as I don't have a car. But my dad and two of his brothers had it, so I've obviously inherited it from them.
