Where we are, instead of Sasquatch.

Oh God, I am just about to do another read-and-re-outline on my novel. I'm sick of it, sick, sick, sick, and I only have about 30g words to go before I have a completed draft-- just two weeks of output, really, if only I can pin the $#$5 thing down ( Read more... )

Hey Victoria,

I know it's become a cliche to say it, but I know how you feel.

About two weeks ago, I finished rough drafting the changes Don suggested nearly a year ago. I wrote them all out by hand, as I'm far to prone to procrastinate with revisions than write anything new. Now, I'm trying to type it up and just groaning with every word. "It's only a sh*tty first draft" has become my mantra.

Hang in there.

Thanks!

Actually, re-outlining is really helping.

I think I can, I think I can. . . .

Thank you for applying, but we have no openings at this time in either our sheep castrating or phone-a-wank departments, and the avocado squeezing department has been shut down and outsourced to Greenland. We will keep your resume on file and if a suitable position opens up we will be sure to let you know.

I'm pulling for you, genius girlfriend. Go, go, go! With your word processor or on it! Seize the fish! You can do this!

We got all old and middle aged, suddenly.

Was it amazing? I really wanted to See The Arcade Fire, and Bobby Bare, Jr., and Joanna Newsome, and, you know, everyone else.

Arcade Fire was amazing. J. watched our stuff while I went down to dance. I almost cried during the first song I felt so happy. I danced and danced.

Didn't see Bobby Bare Jr. Joanna Newsome was good...sounded even better than the cd.

Modest Mouse was disappointing...realized what a good job their producer did on the last album. In real life they are much less tight and more angry.

Pixies were...tired. They sounded like they were just trying to get through the set...songs all strung together to keep the momentem up. It was nice to be able to say I had heard them...but I do feel they didn't have the energy of their youth.

The sun however, was torturous. Luckily I brought my monster parosol and a towel to wet.
