CRRRRAAAAAAAAAP! I'm so sorry that happened to you. UGH!
It was the night before my sixteenth birthday and I was putting the finishing touches on a 20 page paper for my American History class on Native American tribes in North America and while spell checking, the computer crashed and COMPLETELY ERASED my entire 20 page document. I spent all night and all the next day typing typing typing because it was due at 3:10 P.M. on May 12, 1993 and Mr. Moe was a total hardass who wouldn't take it even if it was a moment late. I raced to the school and handed it to him at 3:02P.M. and told him what happened. He said, "You're lucky you finished it." On my SIXTEENTH birthday, I went home and slept. Booo! Computers are sometimes not your friends.
Hope the article flows quickly from your brain....
It's because of crap like that that hitting "ctrl-s" has become a nervous twitch for me.
I'm so very very very sorry. The only consolation I can give is, when you're as good and practiced as we are at writing, slamming out another piece of awesomeness isn't nearly the chore it used to be, so the only thing really lost is the time. The quality, at least, will be comparable.
