Argh, I'm sorry about your laptop. I went to Reykjavik by myself. But it was a graduation present so I didn't pay for my hotel. It is an unbearably expensive place, though I totally recommend it. I really wish I was going to Connect, alas, it didn't seem like a wise plan.
that was just some of my tricking! i love this icon!caravan_voyagerAugust 16 2008, 18:49:33 UTC
it's distressing but i'm not as gutted as i might otherwise have been. a lot of stuff is fairly dispensible. i will probably just make the most of my clean slate and hope that if all my nice files have gone, the nasty virus files have gone too.
Well, you can sign up not as a host but meet travellers occasionally for coffee/alcohol/wandering. That counts too. And if you're looking for someone to stay with, you might find someone who's actually offering a spare room rather than just a couch. I was in York last weekend and got a lovely room to myself. Plus dinner and drinks!
ooh i'm not even sure how that works. even all my programs have gone. i can't get internet explorer, word, itunes, anything. all that were there were five blurry photos in my recycle bin. it's so distressing! do you still think that might work then?
