Ook! I now feel rather less useless about having completely missed the M25 on one memorable occasion, and having had to drive all the way through London to find it.

Happens to the best of us (and me).

On the way back to Derby recently I missed my exit from the roundabout immediately after leaving the M1. I only knew this because I was on a single-carriageway road rather than the expected dual-carriageway. I turned around and promptly returned to the roundabout in order to then take another wrong exit. I only know the way if I get every bit exactly right - as soon as I leave the prescribed route I'm a big useless jelly.
